About
Rythmo Bille is an independent game, imagined and developed by a music and video game enthusiast under the name Endrix30.
The idea
Most rhythm games are played on a list of songs chosen in advance. Rythmo Bille does the opposite: it starts from your music. A song you love, a track you composed, a piece you are practising on the piano… The game turns it into a platform course where jumping at the right moment means playing the melody.
The game is made as much for players who love the challenge of fast levels as for musicians who want to "see" a melody, and for beginners discovering rhythm while having fun.
Our principles
- Free, with no paid advantage: the shop only offers cosmetic items, earned by playing.
- Respect for your music: files are analysed on your device and never uploaded.
- Open to everyone: 8 languages, settings for modest devices, help for beginners.
- A healthy community: nicknames and level titles are filtered, and any content can be reported.
Technologies and credits
Rythmo Bille runs entirely in the browser. It relies on open-source tools we are grateful for:
- Salamander Grand Piano, by Alexander Holm (CC-BY 3.0 licence): the piano sounds.
- Basic Pitch, by Spotify (Apache 2.0 licence): note transcription.
- Spleeter, by Deezer (MIT licence): separating vocals from instruments.
- Press Start 2P (SIL OFL licence): the pixel font.
- Supabase for accounts, leaderboards and multiplayer, and Netlify for hosting.
Supporting the project
The game is funded by players' donations (a "Support the game" button sits in the menu) and may show discreet ads outside of games. Telling people about the game, publishing levels and reporting bugs also helps a lot.
