Multiplayer
In a duel, two players play the same level at the same time. You see your opponent's ball moving next to yours, and both scores update live.

Three ways to play
Ranked
Your Elo and rank change after every game. You face players of your level.
Unranked
Practise against real players, with no Elo to win or lose.
Custom game
Your own room, public or private, with your rules. Share the code or the link with a friend.
The menu shows how many players are online, so you know whether a search is likely to find someone.
How a duel is decided
Each player has 3 lives. A fall costs a life and removes 10% of the score. A player with no lives left loses the round; while both still have lives, the final score (the score minus fall penalties) decides. If both players run out of lives, the one who got further wins. Quitting or leaving the game hands the win to your opponent.
In a custom game you can also pick the no-elimination mode: nobody is knocked out, each fall only removes 10% of the score.
Ranked games
Everyone starts at 300 Elo, in the Silver rank. The winner takes 3 to 30 Elo from the loser, based on three things: their points compared with the perfect score, the points gap with the opponent and the Elo gap between the two players. Beating a much stronger player earns more; beating a much weaker one earns less.
| Rank | Elo | Game difficulty |
|---|---|---|
| Silver | below 450 | Normal |
| Gold | 450 and up | Normal |
| Platinum | 600 and up | Hard |
| Diamond | 800 and up | Hard |
| Maestro | 1,000 and up | Extreme |
Ranks from Silver to Diamond have three divisions (I, II and III). Each game's level is drawn at random from the game's songs and community levels.
Finding an opponent
The game first looks for an opponent within 30 Elo of you. After one minute of searching, the accepted gap grows to 70 Elo, then to 110 after three minutes. A face-off screen introduces your opponent before the start.
A fair ranking
- Both players send their result: Elo only changes if the two reports agree (or if one of them stops responding for a minute).
- Beyond five counted games against the same player within twelve hours, further games no longer award Elo.
- Ranked games require a nickname, so nobody can play under someone else's name.
Playing with friends
Create a custom game, make it public (anyone can join from the list) or private (the code or link is required), then send the link to your friend: they land straight in your room. You choose the level (a song from the game, one of your levels or music you just imported) or leave it to chance, as well as the difficulty and the lives rules. The game starts as soon as you are both ready.
Your record
Your profile separates your ranked record (Elo, rank, ranked wins and losses, best Elo) from the record of all your duels. Your online match history keeps the level played, the opponent and the result, and lets you save a level you enjoyed.
